The Arise apprenticeship is a five-week immersive discipleship program designed to equip young leaders from across the country to live an awakened-life. Apprentices are trained to live the Christian life by receiving: knowledge of God, experience with the Holy Spirit, and times of prayer and worship alongside one another. Apprentices will be challenged to learn in an interactive setting where they workshop fresh ideas about God, the Church, prayer, worship, identity, calling, etc.

Awakening is when God moves so deeply in the hearts of men and women that the whole landscape of culture shifts to look more like the Kingdom of God. This happens on a personal level when someone experiences the transformational love of God and responds to it with their life. To put it simply: we're chasing after the all-in, authentic Christianity we see in the New Testament.

The majority of the apprenticeship will take place in & around Lexington, Kentucky. There will be a week-long trip that will consist of visiting various churches and ministries across multiple states.

Young leaders between the ages of 19-25 who are:

• Discontent with cultural versions of Christianity

• Hungry to experience real, deep transforming relationship with God and wanting to learn how to create spaces where other people can do the same thing

• Ready to dream about what God can do in their generation and eager to go to the front lines in prayer about it

• Willing to get outside their comfort zone to take risks

• Desiring to join God in his mission for the world with every aspect of their life

The apprenticeship was birthed out of two larger contexts: the Arise house church network and the Awakening Project. In 2022, Arise hosted it’s first immersive discipleship program from young leaders entitled the Arise Residency. The residency hosted 9 young adults from across the United States. This summer, Arise is excited to welcome 20 new individuals to participate in what is now called the Arise Apprenticeship.

• Be challenged to lead in ways that are outside my comfort zone.

• Cultivate a holy imagination for what God might desire to do through my life.

• Grow a prayer life that connects me with the heart of God and changes the world around me

• Hear from church leaders across the country who are taking risks to see a fresh move of God take place in my generation

• Discover the spiritual gifts that God has given me to serve within the church and to live-out missionally on my campus

• Develop new spiritual rhythms that will shape me for years to come

• Forge authentic community with other residents who will encourage me to pursue all that God has for my life.

• Meet spiritual mothers and fathers in Lexington and beyond who will teach, model, and impart awakening leadership to me (Expect to make intergenerational friendships!)

• Talk honestly about the real issues of faith for my generation and the church - justice, sexuality, mental health, and other areas where God's heart intersects my culture.

• Unearth a greater understanding of God's will for my life by exploring questions like: What has God called me to do? What major/job am I supposed to pursue? Where will I live? Who will I marry?

Awakening Project is a network of emerging adults who are unified in a desire to see a fresh move of God. The Awakening Project Conference meets each year for five days of worship, prayer, teaching, connecting, and fun. At the Awakening Project, you will receive tools and build relationships that will equip you and support you in creating the kind of spiritual community that you long to be a part of.

The Awakening Project will take place during Week Two of the 2023 Arise Apprenticeship. Apprentices will receive a special discount code to register for the Awakening Project.
